The primary purpose of a ceptometer is to quantify the light interception or light absorption by plant canopies. It consists of a set of light sensors or photodiodes that are usually arranged in a linear or grid pattern. These sensors are positioned above the vegetation canopy, and they measure the amount of incoming sunlight that is intercepted by the plants.
The LAI-2200C Plant Canopy Analyzer can be used to measure LAI in many types of canopies. Click for further details
