Wet Sieving Apparatus

The wet sieving apparatus is used to determine aggregate stability of soil. The aggregate stability of a soil is the resistance of soil structure against mechanical or physicochemical destructive forces. Soil structure is one of the main factors controlling plant growth by its influence on root penetration, soil temperature and gas diffusion, water transport and seedling emergence and therefore it is an important soil characteristic for farmers.
Applications of the wet sieving apparatus are the fields of agriculture and land conservation (research on soil erosion, land degradation/ conservation, salinization, agriculture, sustainable agriculture). Determining aggregate stability will give information on the sensitivity of soils to water and wind erosion, which might be prevented e.g. by mulching the soil surface. Information on soil aggregate stability can also improve tillage programs, adapted to the specific soil type and crop demands.

Granular composition test set

Granular composition test set allows the user to determine the particle size distribution of soil samples in order to be able to classify the soils on the basis of international standards.

Hydrometer kit

To obtain an accurate determination of the particle size distribution of the smallest fractions it is possible to apply the hydrometer method.

Pipette apparatus

A simple method for the determination of the particle size is the pipette method. After carbonates, organic substances and possible iron oxide have been removed (because of their binding function) the pipette method is used to determine the fractions of particles smaller than 38 μm.

Soil Stirrer / Mixer

For dispersing soil suspensions used in hydrometer method of testing sub grade soils, heavy-duty mixer operates at a speed above 10,000 RPM (no load). Includes stirring apparatus with H-4266 stainless steel paddle and H-4265 chrome-plated dispersion cup with 4 sets of permanent interior baffles. Rounded cup bottom prevents soil accumulation.

Shear test apparatus

The shear test apparatus measures the shear stress of an undisturbed soil sample. During the measurement soil water matrix, compression stress and vertical displacement are simultaneously measured. The apparatus is operating computer controlled using multifunctional software for executing measurement protocols and visualized data presentation.

Compression test apparatus

The compression test apparatus measures the impact of vertical stress on an undisturbed soil sample. During the measurement soil water matrix, compression stress and vertical displacement are simultaneously measured. The apparatus is operating computer controlled using multifunctional software for executing measurement protocols and both numerical and graphical visualized data presentation
